Operations Manager – Kuwait
Reports to: Head of Operations / Country Manager

Job Purpose:
The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall supply chain management. His main responsibility is to ensure that the supply chain is efficient and effective whilst offering sustainability and customer satisfaction. Overseeing the operations by ensuring all packages are correctly received, sorted, delivered, and undamaged within the predefined service commitment standard times; monitoring all station operation schedules (Stations, Station-Customer Points); and verifying a high level of coordination between different departments.

What You’ll Do Duties & Responsibilities
- Serves as a champion for Elite’s Safety Above All Culture and supports all related initiatives.
- Responsibilities include but are not limited to: hiring, terminations, coaching, training, recognition and rewards, performance evaluation and management, discipline, addressing employee concerns and staff productivity.
- Plans, organizes, directs and controls specific day-to-day operations within the station.
- Responsible for assigning and managing employees to ensure the safe and efficient sortation of packages through the facility, minimizing operational cost and maximizing operational quality.
- Analyzes operational performance through direct observation, interpretation of reports and collaboration with others. Determines opportunities for improvement of key metrics and executes action plans to achieve results.
- Leads daily employee and/or planning meetings to ensure workforce communication and understanding of operational updates and daily goals.
- Participates in the development of and responsible for administering company employee relations strategies, including maintaining the confidentiality of such material and matters.
- Participates in the development of and is responsible for administering company safety strategies and programs.
- Investigates, resolves and/or escalates customer service issues, as appropriate.
- Responsible for training new employees regarding job duties and performance expectations and ensuring compliance with Elite policies, procedures and other training requirements, including but not limited to training related to quality assurance.
- Mentors and develops critical skill sets in lower-level Operations Team.

Requirements

About You

Education and Certification

  • BSc degree in Logistics, Business or other related courses

  • Master’s in business administration – desirable


Knowledge and Skills Needed to do the Job

  • Strong knowledge in logistics/ last mile/ courier/ express industry

  • Knowledge in Logistics / Supply Chain / FTL / LTL business

  • Familiarity with Project Management

  • Knowledge cross-border operations and clearances

  • Proficient knowledge of warehousing

  • Understanding Stakeholder management

  • Excellent communication in English

  • IT Skills in MS Office package

  • Excellent people management skills


Experience

  • At least 6+ years of experience in the last-mile/ courier/ express industry in the region, Kuwait experience if a plus

  • Similar role as operations manager in a reputed courier/ logistics company

  • Knowledge in Logistics / Supply Chain / FTL / LTL business

  • Experience in cross-border operations and clearance

  • Track record of managing large teams
