Operations Manager - UAE

About the Role

The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall supply chain management. His main responsibility is to ensure that the supply chain is efficient and effective whilst offering sustainability, business development, and customer satisfaction.


Duties & Responsibilities

Manage courier/ express and the general business operations
Hire, train, and lead a team dedicated to operations to ensure we have good relationships with business partners
Create, improve and scale business operations processes
Manage the onboarding process of couriers to ensure service levels are met
Manager logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services.
Monitor, improve and optimize key delivery metrics to increase efficiency and ensure a great experience for our business partners
Work closely with the Country Manager, operations teams, and HQ functions to develop a local strategy and implement global initiatives
Solve blockers such as forecasting supply and lead the team by example - be confident to roll your sleeves and get things done
Ensure all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements
Evaluate budgets and expenditures and report to stakeholders
Update and evaluate metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements

Requirements

Education and Certification

BSc degree in Logistics, Business or other related courses

Masters in Business Administration – desirable

Knowledge and Skills Needed to do the Job

  • Strong knowledge in logistics/ last-mile/ courier/ express industry

  • Familiarity with Project Management

  • Knowledge in cross-border operations and clearances

  • Proficient knowledge in warehousing

  • Understanding Stakeholder management

  • Understanding of Courier / Last-mile / Logistics / Express / Supply Chain business model

  • Excellent communication in English, Arabic a plus

  • IT Skills in MS Office package

  • Excellent people management skills

Experience

  • At least 4 – 5 years related experience in last mile / courier / express industry in the Region

  • Similar role as operations manager in a reputed courier/logistics company

  • Experience in cross-border operations and clearance

  • Track record of managing large teams

  • Experience in Courier / Last-mile / Logistics / Express / Supply Chain

  • Six Sigma - Black Belt preferred
